A quick, satisfying, and guilt-free high protein overnight oats recipe with fresh berries, perfect for calorie deficit goals and busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup (45g) rolled oats
  • ¾ cup (180ml) unsweetened almond milk
  • ¼ cup (60g) plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop (about 30g) vanilla whey or plant-based protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds
  • ½ cup (75g) fresh mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon flaxseed meal (optional)
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Measure and combine dry ingredients: In a mixing bowl, add ½ cup (45g) rolled oats, 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds, 1 teaspoon flaxseed meal (if using), ¼ teaspoon cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir to mix evenly. (2 minutes)
  2. Add protein powder: Scoop 1 level scoop (about 30g) of vanilla protein powder into the dry mix. Use a whisk or fork to blend thoroughly, breaking up any clumps. This step ensures smooth texture later. (2 minutes)
  3. Pour in wet ingredients: Add ¾ cup (180ml) unsweetened almond milk and ¼ cup (60g) plain Greek yogurt. If you want a touch of sweetness, drizzle 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup now. Stir everything together until fully combined. The mixture should be creamy but thick enough to hold together. (3 minutes)
  4. Fold in berries: Gently mix in ½ cup (75g) fresh or thawed berries. Be careful not to mash them too much — the goal is to keep some whole for texture and bursts of flavor. (1 minute)
  5. Transfer to jar or container: Spoon the mixture into a mason jar or airtight container. Screw the lid on tightly. (1 minute)
  6. Refrigerate overnight: Place the jar in the fridge and let it chill for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight. This allows oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid fully and thicken. (Overnight)
  7. Serve and enjoy: In the morning, give the oats a good stir. Add a splash of almond milk if it’s too thick. Top with extra fresh berries or a sprinkle of nuts if you like. (1 minute)

Notes

Mix protein powder with dry ingredients first to avoid clumps. Adjust milk quantity in the morning to achieve desired consistency. Use airtight containers to keep oats fresh. Can prepare multiple servings at once. Frozen berries should be thawed before mixing.
