These turkey and cheese pinwheel roll-ups are a quick, kid-friendly lunchbox solution made with flour tortillas, cream cheese, deli turkey, and shredded cheddar. Ready in under 10 minutes of active prep, they’re perfect for busy mornings and hold up beautifully in a lunch bag.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 flour tortillas (8-inch or 10-inch)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 810 slices deli turkey (oven-roasted or honey turkey)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ΒΌ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ΒΌ teaspoon onion powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese: Remove from fridge at least 20 minutes before starting, or microwave unwrapped for 10-15 seconds until spreadable but not melted.
  2. Mix the spread: In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  3. Prepare work surface: Lay a flour tortilla flat on a cutting board. If tortillas are stiff, microwave between damp paper towels for 10 seconds.
  4. Spread cream cheese mixture: Using a butter knife or offset spatula, spread an even layer over the entire surface of the tortilla, going all the way to the edges.
  5. Layer turkey: Place 2-3 slices of turkey on top of the cream cheese, overlapping slightly for even coverage.
  6. Add shredded cheese: Sprinkle about 2-3 tablespoons of shredded cheddar evenly over the turkey.
  7. Roll tightly: Starting at one edge, roll the tortilla as tightly as possible without tearing, using fingers to hold filling in place. Press edge to seal.
  8. Wrap and chill: Place rolled tortilla seam-side down on plastic wrap, wrap tightly, twisting ends. Repeat with remaining tortillas. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  9. Slice into pinwheels: After chilling, unwrap each roll and slice into Β½-inch to ΒΎ-inch rounds using a sharp chef’s knife with a gentle sawing motion.
  10. Pack and serve: Arrange pinwheels in lunchbox or serving container. Store in airtight container in fridge with parchment paper between layers.

Notes

Don’t skip the chill timeβ€”it firms up the cream cheese for clean slicing. Use a sharp knife to avoid squishing. Warm tortillas if they crack. For best flavor, make a day ahead. Freeze whole rolls (unsliced) for up to 2 months.
