Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 8 ounces pepper jack cheese, sliced or cubed
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 pound soft pretzel bites (about 4 cups)
  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks
  • 1/4 cup honey mustard
  • 1/4 cup spicy brown mustard
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes
  • 1 medium apple, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces Genoa salami, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces pepperoni
  • Optional: pickles, olives, nuts, jam or honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Spread frozen soft pretzel bites on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 5-7 minutes until warm and slightly crispy on the outside. Let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  2. While pretzels warm, take cheddar and pepper jack out of fridge about 10 minutes before starting. Cut cheddar into 1/2-inch cubes. Slice pepper jack into thin triangles or rectangles. Place cream cheese in a small bowl.
  3. Spoon honey mustard and spicy brown mustard into separate small bowls. If using jam or honey, put in a third bowl. Place cream cheese in its own bowl. Arrange bowls on the board first.
  4. Fold salami slices in half and then in half again to create triangles. Arrange in a small pile or fan near one edge of the board. Do the same with pepperoni.
  5. Scatter cheddar cubes in small clusters around the board. Place pepper jack slices in another area. Leave space between different cheeses.
  6. Pile warm soft pretzel bites in a large mound in the center or off to one side. Scatter mini pretzel twists and pretzel sticks around the board, filling in gaps.
  7. Tuck grapes in small bunches around the board. Arrange apple slices in a fan pattern near one edge.
  8. Fill empty spaces with pickles, olives, or nuts as desired.
  9. Stick toothpicks into cheese cubes and salami folds. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over cream cheese if desired. Place a small cheese knife next to each cheese cluster.

Notes

Prep everything except soft pretzels up to an hour ahead. Cover board with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Take out 15 minutes before serving and add warm pretzels right before guests arrive. For best flavor, let cheese sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before serving.
