This copycat Starbucks pumpkin cream cold foam coffee is a quick and easy homemade version of the popular fall drink. Made with simple ingredients like heavy cream, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice, it turns a regular cup of coffee into a seasonal treat without the drive-thru wait.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (or heavy whipping cream)
  • 1 tablespoon 2% milk (or whole milk)
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree (100% pure, not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup (or maple syrup)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee (or espresso)
  • Ice (optional, for iced version)

Instructions

  1. Brew a strong cup of coffee or pull a double shot of espresso. Let it cool slightly if making an iced version.
  2. In a mason jar or small bowl, combine heavy cream, milk, pumpkin puree, vanilla syrup, and pumpkin pie spice. Ensure the cream is cold.
  3. If using a mason jar, screw the lid on tightly and shake vigorously for 30-45 seconds until the mixture thickens and doubles in volume. If using a frother, whisk for about 20 seconds until thick and pourable.
  4. For iced version: Fill a glass with ice, pour cooled coffee over ice, leaving about an inch of space at the top. Slowly spoon or pour the pumpkin cream cold foam over the back of a spoon onto the coffee.
  5. For hot version: Pour hot coffee into a mug. Gently spoon the cold foam on top.
  6. Sprinkle a tiny pinch of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon over the top of the foam.
  7. Stir gently to incorporate or drink as-is for a layered experience.

Notes

Use cold ingredients for best foam. Do not over-whip; foam should be pourable, not stiff. Layer foam carefully using the back of a spoon. Adjust sweetness to taste. The foam base can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days; re-froth before use.
