Crispy Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Air Fryer Recipe

A quick and easy 20-minute recipe featuring smoky, crispy bacon wrapped around tender shrimp, cooked perfectly in an air fryer for a delicious seafood delight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1620 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1620 strips of regular cut bacon
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Wooden toothpicks
  • Optional: lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the peeled and deveined shrimp with garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and a pinch of kosher salt until evenly coated.
  3. Wrap one strip of bacon tightly around each shrimp, starting at the tail end and working toward the head. Secure with a wooden toothpick. Cut bacon strips in half if needed for a better fit.
  4. Arrange the bacon-wrapped shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each to allow hot air circulation.
  5. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 8 minutes, flipping each shrimp halfway through (about 4 minutes) using kitchen tongs to crisp the bacon evenly.
  6. Check for doneness: bacon should be golden and crispy, shrimp opaque and firm. Add 1-2 more minutes if extra crispiness is desired, checking frequently to avoid burning.
  7. Remove toothpicks carefully, plate the shrimp, and optionally squeeze fresh lemon over the top. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispy bacon. Wrap bacon tightly to prevent unraveling. Use wooden toothpicks soaked in water to reduce burning risk. Adjust cooking time for shrimp size. For oven cooking, bake at 425°F (220°C) on a wire rack for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway.
