These crispy air fryer parmesan garlic wings are quick, easy, and packed with flavor. With a shatter-crisp skin and a golden parmesan crust, they’re perfect for game day or a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs (about 900g) chicken wings, separated into drums and flats
  • 45 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup (50g) grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika (smoked preferred)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper, freshly cracked
  • Olive oil or avocado oil spray
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep the wings: Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. For extra crispiness, let them sit uncovered in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  2. Make the dry rub: In a large mixing bowl, combine grated parmesan, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until evenly blended.
  3. Coat the wings: Add the dried wings to the bowl and toss with your hands until every wing is evenly coated. Shake off any excess.
  4. Preheat the air fryer: Set to 380°F (193°C) and preheat for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Arrange the wings: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil. Place wings in a single layer, leaving space between each. Lightly spray the tops with oil.
  6. Air fry the wings: Cook at 380°F for 12 minutes. Flip each wing, then cook for another 10-12 minutes until golden brown and crispy (internal temperature reaches 165°F / 74°C).
  7. Make the garlic butter: While wings cook, melt butter in a small skillet over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat.
  8. Toss and serve: Transfer hot wings to a clean bowl. Pour garlic butter over and toss gently. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Pat wings very dry for maximum crispiness. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Toss wings with garlic butter immediately after cooking. For extra crispy wings, add 2 more minutes of cooking time.
