These creamy overnight peanut butter banana oats are a quick and easy breakfast that takes just five minutes to prepare. With simple pantry ingredients and a perfect ratio, they deliver a delicious, pudding-like texture that makes mornings something to look forward to.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (any kind)
  • 3 tablespoons (48g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 medium ripe banana, mashed
  • 12 tablespoons (15-30ml) maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Mash the banana in a small bowl until smooth with no large lumps.
  2. In a mason jar or container, combine the mashed banana, milk, peanut butter, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract. Stir until the peanut butter is fully incorporated.
  3. Add the rolled oats, chia seeds (if using), and a pinch of salt. Stir until everything is well combined.
  4. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight (8-12 hours).
  5. In the morning, stir the oats. If too thick, add a splash of milk to reach desired consistency.
  6. Add toppings such as sliced banana, extra peanut butter, chopped peanuts, or chocolate chips. Serve cold or microwave for 30-60 seconds if desired.

Notes

Use old-fashioned rolled oats for best texture. Mash the banana instead of slicing for even flavor distribution. Let the oats rest at least 6 hours for optimal creaminess. Don’t skip the saltβ€”it enhances sweetness and balances the peanut butter. Double the batch for up to 5 days of breakfasts.
