Cozy Caramel Apple Sangria: Easy Fall Party Recipe

Caramel Apple Sangria - featured image

A warm, spiced autumn cocktail featuring dry red wine, fresh apple cider, and thick caramel sauce, infused with cinnamon and fresh apples for a cozy, comforting drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine (such as Pinot Noir)
  • 1 cup thick caramel sauce
  • 1 cup fresh, unfiltered apple cider
  • 3 medium apples (Honeycrisp or Gala), cored and sliced into thin wedges
  • 34 cinnamon sticks
  • Ice cubes for serving
  • Optional: 1-2 oz bourbon or rum for extra kick

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples, then slice them into thin, uniform wedges.
  2. Pour the red wine into a large one-gallon pitcher.
  3. Add the apple cider to the wine and stir gently to combine.
  4. Add the caramel sauce to the pitcher and stir vigorously for about one minute until fully dissolved.
  5. If using, add bourbon or rum at this stage.
  6. Drop the cinnamon sticks and sliced apples into the pitcher.
  7. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow flavors to meld.
  8. Serve over ice in wide-mouthed glasses, garnishing each glass with a slice of apple and a cinnamon stick.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, omit the wine and replace it with an additional cup of apple cider. If serving warm, gently heat the wine and cider mixture on the stove over low heat without boiling. The apples may become soft if steeped overnight; add them just before serving if you prefer crunch. Adjust sweetness by tasting after steeping and adding more caramel or a splash of lemon juice as needed.
