Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken recommended)
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot Wings)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 large bag crispy tortilla chips (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, ranch dressing, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Beat with a hand mixer on medium speed until smooth and well-combined, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the shredded chicken, buffalo wing sauce, and melted butter. Stir until every piece of chicken is nicely coated.
  4. Add the buffalo chicken mixture to the cream cheese base. Fold together gently with a rubber spatula until evenly distributed.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded sharp cheddar cheese evenly over the top, followed by the crumbled blue cheese (if using).
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly and the cheese is melted and starting to turn golden brown around the edges.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes to cool slightly and set up. Just before serving, sprinkle the sliced green onions over the top. Serve immediately with crispy tortilla chips.

Notes

For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and shred your own cheddar cheese. Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature for at least an hour to avoid lumps. A splash of pickle juice or white vinegar in the cream cheese base adds a restaurant-quality tang. Do not overbake to prevent the dip from becoming dry or grainy.
