These make-ahead sweet glazed ham sliders are perfect for Easter brunch, combining tender ham, melted cheese, and a sticky sweet glaze for a comforting and fuss-free meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian slider buns
  • 1 pound thinly sliced deli ham or leftover baked ham, chopped
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese or your favorite melting cheese
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  2. Slice the 12 Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half, keeping them attached as a whole block. Place the bottom half in a 9×13-inch baking dish, cut side up.
  3. Spread the thinly sliced deli ham evenly over the bottom half of the buns.
  4. Place a slice of Swiss cheese over the ham layer, covering as much as possible.
  5. Carefully place the top half of the slider buns over the cheese, pressing gently but firmly to compact the sliders.
  6. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, garlic powder, and onion powder to make the glaze.
  7. Using a basting brush, generously coat the top of the slider buns with the glaze mixture.
  8. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the tops are glossy and starting to caramelize.
  10. Remove from the oven and let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing apart and serving.

Notes

If glaze is too thick, add a splash of warm water to loosen. For a crispier top, broil for 1-2 minutes after uncovering, watching closely to avoid burning. Covering with foil during baking keeps sliders moist. Use thinly sliced ham for best texture. Sliders can be assembled a day ahead and refrigerated. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheat best in the oven wrapped in foil.
